Vacant Trainee Committee positions
The committee for the All Wales Airway Group (AWAG) invites applications for the vacant committee positions of junior specialist trainee rep (ST3 or ST4, 2 posts) and core trainee rep (CT1, CT2 or CT3, 1 post).
AWAG is a group of health care professionals (mostly anaesthetists) in Wales with an interest in difficult airway management. It aims to improve airway management in Wales through providing a forum for networking and communication, disseminating updates and providing training, and fostering airway-related research and audit. Committee work is not remunerated. The trainee rep roles include representing the views and interests of Welsh trainees in AWAG’s work; attending bi-monthly video-conference committee meetings; contributing to the organisation and running of courses (including teaching under supervision) and conferences; and contributing to AWAG’s various projects (e.g. quality improvement work). The successful candidates will be expected to be proactive and invest time and effort in AWAG’s activities, but will find the post enjoyable, professionally rewarding and a useful addition to their CV.
To apply please email the name of a consultant anaesthetist who seconds your application, a short CV, and a brief statement outlining your reasons for applying for the position to the AWAG secretary (firstname.lastname@example.org) . The deadline for applications is 17:00 Friday 8th December 2017.
For more information on the role please contact Dr Thomas Kitchen (email@example.com) who is a current AWAG senior specialist trainee rep.
