The Friars Education Centre

For directions to The Royal Gwent Hospital please refer to the hospital webpage. The Friars education centre is an old Victorian Building at the top of the hospital site. Parking is very limited at the Friars itself; instead use the Mendalgief Road car park adjacent to the hospital, or the main hospital car parks. Please allow at least 15 minutes for parking, as the car parks are likely to be busy!
This is a hands-on course delivered through practical workshops, short plenaries and interactive case-based discussions. Delegates will learn the anatomy of the upper airway, local anaesthetic topicalisation techniques and nasendoscopy. This will be the 6th time AWAG have run this course, which has received positive feedback from previous delegates.
Delegates will practice nasendoscopy on each other, under the guidance of an experienced, multi-disciplinary faculty.
(i.e. You will be provided with information and a consent form before attending the course, to have local anaesthetic applied to your nose, and be scoped by other delegates.)
This course has limited availability to ensure a high faculty to delegate ratio - early booking is advised. Registration is now open to all grades.
